Creating positive sporting experiences for young people with disabilties.

Freedom Sports Foundation is a not-for-profit and registered charity with a mission to foster inclusion and empower people with a disability to engage in sport. We believe that everyone, irrespective of their abilities, deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and camaraderie that sports bring.

Freedom Sports Foundation works to deliver flagship programs in Wheelchair AFL Coaching, Disability Awareness Programs for schools and Corporate Engagement Days for businesses across both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, ultimately expanding into NSW/ACT, SA and QLD.

Originating from a vision to dismantle barriers and challenge societal norms that hinder the participation of people with disability in sport, Freedom Sports was founded with a primary emphasis on promoting Wheelchair AFL & Wheelchair Basketball as well as various Paralympic Sports.

Founded by Chris Henderson, former Captain and best and Fairest winner of Richmond’s Wheelchair Football Team. The newly appointed playing Coach of the Essendon Wheelchair Football Club, together with a founding Board of skilled professionals who share a passion for inclusion in sport, Freedom Sports Foundation is poised to drive meaningful change within the disability sports sector.
